CAFS Fire Suppression System
Summary
A CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) is a fire suppression system that uses a mixture of water, foam concentrate, and compressed air to create a fire-fighting foam with superior properties compared to traditional methods. This foam, known as CAF (Compressed Air Foam), is more effective at extinguishing fires due to its enhanced cooling, adhesion, and penetration capabilities.
The system mixes water and foam concentrate to create a foam solution. Then, compressed air is injected into the solution within a mixing chamber, actively expanding the foam. This active expansion process results in a CAF foam with a fine, homogeneous bubble structure, increased energy content, and excellent adhesion to surfaces.
